Morpheus was designed by world-renowned naval architect Carl Schumacher and built by Davie Norris Boatbuilders in New Zealand. She was launched in 2002 and spent her first 18 months cruising the South Pacific before reaching her home port of San Francisco. Since then, she has raced and cruised almost 100,000nm and has proven to be one of the most reliable race/cruisers ever built. 

Her travels included the South Pacific, Hawaii, Mexico, the East Coast, Bermuda, the Caribbean, and Europe. Morpheus has also competed in numerous inshore and offshore racing events, including:

  • Pacific Cup Races (2nd in Class) 
  • Newport to Cabo (1st in class) 
  • San Diego to Puerto Vallarta (2nd in Class)
  • 2006 Rolex Big Boat Series (1st in class)
  • Newport to Bermuda
  • 2021 Block Island Race Week (1st in class)
