WARRIOR is a professionally optimized J/Boat that has undergone an extensive, no-expense-spared rebuild to deliver maximum performance on the racecourse. Managed by Kevin Miller of North Sails and optimized with input from Greg Stewart of Nelson/Marek Yacht Design, she underwent a comprehensive 2023 rebuild at Dencho Marine, including new deck layout, new rudder, keel optimization, brand-new Yanmar engine, new B&G electronics, and a complete 2024 North 3Di sail inventory. The 2023 rebuild at Dencho Marine in Long Beach was executed with a singular focus on performance. Under the direction of Kevin Miller of North Sails and with design input from Greg Stewart of Nelson/Marek Yacht Design, WARRIOR received extensive upgrades above and below the waterline. The keel and rudder were removed and re-engineered with updated sectional shapes, precision faired, and fitted with kelp cutters to maximize efficiency in demanding race conditions. A new carbon rudder was installed, while the Hall Spars carbon rig was stripped to its base laminate and refinished to eliminate excess weight.
On deck, the layout was redesigned and upgraded with modern hardware and winches to improve crew ergonomics and handling efficiency. A complete B&G electronics and battery system was installed by Arte Means, while SeaTek Yachting carried out comprehensive mast and rigging upgrades, including new standing rigging. All finishing and cosmetic work was completed by Dennis Choate and the team at Dencho Marine, resulting in a boat that is both visually striking and purpose-built for speed.
The current owner has an exceptional track record of building and campaigning highly optimized race boats, with a reputation for sparing no expense in pursuit of performance. WARRIOR is the latest example—meticulously prepared with a single objective in mind: WINNING.
