Axopar/BRABUS Pacific Northwest Adventure. Jeff Brown Yachts Announces 2024 Summer Rendezvous.
Article Posted Feb 01, 2024Will this be your summer of boating adventure? Set for June 17-21, Jeff Brown Yachts will be leading the Axopar/BRABUS Pacific Northwest Adventure, with the opportunity for you to explore the cruising grounds of the Salish Sea—the collective waters of the Puget Sound, Strait of Juan de Fuca, Strait of Georgia, British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast, and a string of emerald islands rimmed by the Cascade and Olympic Mountains.
The journey begins in Seattle, where Tommy Casias and Coleman Rogers from our Seattle office, and Jeff Brown will greet you for an epic 5-day adventure. You’ll have a couple of days before the trip to prep and provision your boats, and the Jeff Brown Yachts service team will be on hand to assist. On Sunday night, June 16, we’ll be hosting a welcome reception, trip overview, and safety brief. It’s a great way to meet and greet your fellow adventurers and join in the excitement for things to come. Monday morning we’ll top off coffee cups and head through the Ballard Locks for the rendezvous starting point at Elliott Bay Marina.
Our first port of call will be the always-welcoming Lopez Islander Resort, located on Fisherman Bay and the “Friendly Isle” of Lopez. It should be an easy day's run, with an opportunity to find your sea legs and get in sync with the water world around you. You’ll enjoy pre-arranged mooring and lodging, a hosted social event, and the evening to enjoy on your own terms.
Day 2 will take the group into Canadian waters. We’ll clear Customs at Van Isla Marina in the town of Sydney, on Vancouver Island. From here, our course runs parallel with a string of coastal islands before we transit the Strait of Georgia. Setting a course for the mainland, we’ll enter the majestic realm of British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. Deeply carved fjords split the coast, as mountains soar steeply above. You’ll nudge the nose of your boat up to sheer cliffs and fill your cup from waterfalls that cascade hundreds of feet into the ocean. Upon entering these waters, you’ll truly feel a world apart.
The remote Westcoast Wilderness Lodge will serve as our base camp for days of adventure and exploration. The award-winning lodge offers gracious accommodations, locally sourced cuisine, and a welcoming staff. From here, you enjoy a water highway to a land of scenic wonders, including Princess Louisa Inlet—often referred to as the Grand Canyon of British Columbia. Local guides will share their favorite spots and take us through inlets and passages you’ll never forget.
Jeff Brown Yachts will be hosting meals and social gatherings throughout the week, while leaving plenty of time to explore and relax on your own. To help make this a stress-free trip, we’ve set the route, pre-arranged lodging, taken care of mooring details, and organized activities suited for all. Our Service Department can also assist with transporting your boat from its homeport to Seattle. All you have to do is register to join us, and cover your transportation, lodging/meals, and boat expenses.
Beyond our time together, we’re hopeful you’ll consider staying a bit longer and explore more of what this amazing cruising area has to offer. At the end of the rendezvous, Jeff and Tommy will be adding a few days in Vancouver. You’re welcome to join them, or if you desire, consider exploring a little further north, into Desolation Sound, the largest marine park in British Columbia. Heading south, the vibrant and modern city of Victoria is an option, as well as the historic and charming community of Port Townsend, on the northern tip of the Olympic Peninsula. The team at Jeff Brown Yachts will be happy to assist with route information.
We’re looking forward to a great Axopar/BRABUS Pacific Northwest Adventure, with the chance to discover new places, meet new friends, and create lasting memories. There’s limited room, so register early to secure your spot. You can find the registration form here, jeffbrownyachts.com/events/pacific-northwest-adventure
